kind of structure I'm fishing. Half or three-quarter, typically a half. Another bait that is versatile, you know,
you can burn it, you can rip it outta grass, you can yoyo it, which is something that I
think is not talked about real often. It's kind of one of those techniques that
it takes a little while to learn how to do it, but it's really, really effective in the
pre-spawn period. So, you can cover a flat with it. Like I said, rip it out of grass, super versatile. You get a lot of reaction bites with a lipless
bait. So on that setup, I use a St. Croix Victory,
7-foot, 3-inch, medium heavy power. And it's a fast action. I like a little longer rod just for the pure
distance. You know, a lot of times if I'm on a long
point, you know, or there's, you know, a longer, bigger rock pile, I wanna be able to cover
that thing with a long cast. I'll typically use 14 to 16-pound fluorocarbon. I usually use, you know, the FC Sniper from
Sunline, and then I'll use a 7:1 gear ratio reel. In this rod, it's a little more parabolic
than a lot of rods, you know, in that mean heavy fast category, which I think is really
key with any treble hook bait especially with a Rat-L-Trap because they're kind of known
for losing fish. So there's kind of a fine line between using
too soft of a rod and too stiff of a rod.

EARLY Spring Baits by BassGeek → the regular canine which is the kind of copolymer for lack of a better term it's got a little more stretch but still has the invisibility of fluorocarbon i've been throwing these for a long time i'm comfortable with it so i'm gonna throw it on the pro 100 by k9 anywhere from 15 if you're first starting out throw it on 20 pound test okay my go-to weights are the eighth ounces on these put me some dummy heads here on the top with no hooks because i'm in tennessee virginia allows five all the way around you can have as many as you want in virginia but check with your state regulations if you need to lighten it up you're fishing flatter shallower water leave the dummy heads off and just use hitchhikers and use the 1 8 on the bottom or you can even go down to like 3 16. or even lower if you need to next on the board now again we're still talking about late winter early spring here or super early spring when it's still gonna be cold okay so in that weather the next one i'm definitely going to have tied on is my jerk baits these are two of my very favorite jerk baits so this is going to be the mega bass 110 the vision 110 plus one sometimes i'll even throw the plus two you can size down you can go with the shallower divers look behind me guys
