Where near Newmarket can I go fishing?

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out with your question about fishing spots near Newmarket. While the video context provided doesn't specifically mention Newmarket, I can still offer some general advice based on my bass fishing expertise.

Newmarket, Ontario, is surrounded by several great fishing spots that you might find interesting:

  1. Lake Simcoe: Just a short drive from Newmarket, Lake Simcoe is renowned for its excellent bass fishing. Both largemouth and smallmouth bass can be found here. Try using a Ned rig or a Texas rig with a stick bait, as these techniques are effective in various conditions.

  2. Holland River: This river flows through Newmarket and offers some good fishing opportunities. Look for areas with structure like fallen trees or weed beds. A finesse jig or a light shaky head can be very effective in these spots.

  3. Fairy Lake: Located right in Newmarket, Fairy Lake is a smaller body of water but can still provide some decent bass fishing. Early mornings or late evenings are usually the best times to fish here. Try using a weightless Texas rig or a wacky rig for best results.

  4. Musselman’s Lake: A bit further away but still within a reasonable distance, Musselman’s Lake is another good spot for bass fishing. The lake has a variety of structures and cover, making it ideal for techniques like spinnerbaits and jerkbaits.

When fishing these spots, always keep an eye on your electronics if you have them. As mentioned in the video context, using a side scan can help you locate schools of bass, especially around structures like cut banks or creek channels.

If you need more specific recommendations or have any other questions, feel free to ask! Happy fishing! 🎣

Fishing near creek channels during different seasons with Kelley Jaye by Bassmaster there's another little scenario we've come up to here this is a point leading into a marina full of boat docks boat slips we got some good riprap and rocks on the point I tipped I love fishing the points going into these and try them out according to the time of year the fish may hold on the points in the rock better than they do in the slips usually in the in the fall of the year or a spring that they tend to hold on the rocks in the paint more than they do the slips but as the temperature comes up in the summer months you get hot that's they stay around these these boat slips with a shade and there's usually bream a lot of bait fish around them and this you typically kind of deep around these like 20 foot so in the summer months I really concentrate more on the docks with the cinco's wacky reef stick baits spoons even something imitating the bait fish baits I like to use in the spring and fall around here around the rocky park would be jerk baits square bills spinner baits any kind of shed or bait imitating lure like a hard lure this fish actually we were fishing the bank and they hit it right at the boat but that fish more than likely followed it from the bank and just as I was working it kind of fast

How Current Positions Winter Bass | Lake Hamilton Practice Day by Fish the Moment another thing I saw in the back of this Creek was a ton of bait fish actually right when I shut down my engine there was a big ball baitfish were underneath my boat and the area was just super active I saw schools of fish around on my electronics I was seeing shouting on the surface on the fishfinder everywhere and usually when you get into an area like this where you see a lot of activity on your graph it's going to be a productive area and this is something I look for not only up shallow but also offshore usually if you can find an area of the lake let's say 200 to a mile stretch of water where you see all the bait fish on your graph usually there's going to be some bass in the general area and a sufficient to this Creek actually got several bites I got four bites in about 15 minutes of fishing which is awesome and usually this again is a good indicator that there's a concentration of fish here now I didn't really catch anything back in here because the fishies kind of slapped in my crankbait or they were just kind of nipping at the jig and so I didn't know if it was just the conditions it was kind of bright sunny no wind or what it was but regardless I knew there were fish in this area and I felt pretty confident
