Where in Göta Älv should I stand?

Göta Älv is a well-known river in Sweden that offers a variety of fishing opportunities, including bass fishing. When targeting bass or other species, it's essential to consider several factors to find the best spots to stand for fishing. Here are some tips based on general bass fishing principles and the video contexts provided:

  1. Creek Mouths and Inflows: As mentioned in the "Is This the BEST Bank Fishing Spot?" video by Creek Fishing Adventures, creek mouths where smaller streams or creeks feed into the main river are prime spots. These areas often have a higher concentration of baitfish due to the inflow of nutrients, making them attractive to larger bass. Look for areas where the water is slightly murkier or where there is a noticeable current.

  2. Points and Drop-offs: In the "Find The BEST Bank Fishing Spots" video by KickinTheirBASSTV, points and drop-offs are highlighted as excellent fishing spots. Points are areas where the land juts out into the water, creating a natural ambush point for bass. Drop-offs, where the water depth changes abruptly, are also key areas where bass like to hang out, especially during pre-spawn and post-spawn periods.

  3. Standing Timber and Submerged Structures: The "Find Prime Bass Spots in Standing Timber" video by Wired2Fish emphasizes the importance of standing timber and submerged structures. Bass often use these structures for cover and ambush points. If you can find areas in Göta Älv with submerged trees, logs, or other structures, these can be very productive spots.

  4. Marinas and Docks: According to the "Find The BEST Bank Fishing Spots" video, marinas and docks provide excellent cover and structure for bass. These areas often have pilings and other underwater structures that bass use for shelter and hunting.

  5. Flats and Spawning Areas: The "The MAGIC Spot 90% of Fishermen IGNORE for Giant Bass!!" video by Milliken Fishing discusses the importance of flats and spawning pockets. During the spawning season, bass move into shallow, flat areas to lay their eggs. Look for these areas, especially in the spring, as they can be hotspots for bass activity.

  6. Current Breaks and Eddies: In rivers like Göta Älv, current breaks and eddies (areas where the current slows down) are prime spots. Bass will often sit in these areas to conserve energy while waiting for food to come to them.

If you have any specific areas or landmarks in Göta Älv that you're curious about, feel free to provide more details, and I can give more tailored advice. Happy fishing!

The MAGIC Spot 90% of Fishermen IGNORE for Giant Bass!! by Milliken Fishing out here i mean we're on a small body of water but this pertains to just about anywhere you can be right now if you're in really cold water but we got the main lake right out here right behind the boat and then right out here we got a point that comes all the way out at the mouth of a nice flat spawning pocket i guess you could call it they're not going to spawn in here for a long time but there's a ditch that runs through it well coming out from there is is this point and this point drops off pretty gradually it's got another ditch on the back side of it and then the main ditch of the this creek right here running out in the middle right like that and these fish are sitting on a hard spot i assume just waiting to ambush anything that comes by and we're seeing crappie schools on the panoptix rolling through here but this is just a super traditional pre-spawn staging spot and this is like early early pre-spawn right now these fish aren't thinking about spawning or making beds or anything like that they're thinking about trying to stay warm and find a way to eat something and the best way a big fish can do that is sit on the bottom on one of these hard spots which is hard spot i mean is is kind of relative
