Where is the best public lake for trophies using swimbaits in Arkansas?

Based on the video context provided, it seems like Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas would be a great public lake for catching trophies using swimbaits. The angler in the video mentioned that Bull Shoals is one of his favorite lakes in Arkansas and it has fish from one end to the other. He also mentioned that it has a good mix of largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass, which indicates that there is a diverse bass population in the lake. Additionally, Bull Shoals is known for its clear water, which is ideal for swimbait fishing.

Swimbaits are a type of fishing lure that imitates the natural swimming action of baitfish. They come in various sizes and designs, including hard plastic swimbaits and soft plastic paddle tail swimbaits. When fishing with swimbaits, it's important to choose the right size and color based on the forage in the lake and the conditions you're fishing in.

To target trophy bass with swimbaits, you'll want to focus on areas where big bass are likely to be holding, such as points, ledges, drop-offs, and submerged structure. Look for areas with a lot of baitfish activity, as big bass are often found near schools of baitfish. Cast your swimbait out and retrieve it at a steady pace, mimicking the swimming action of a baitfish. You can also experiment with different retrieval speeds and pauses to trigger strikes.

Remember to use appropriate tackle when fishing with swimbaits for trophy bass. Use a medium to heavy action rod with a fast or extra-fast tip to provide the power and sensitivity needed for casting and hooking big fish. Pair it with a high-quality baitcasting reel and spool it with a strong and low-stretch fishing line, such as fluorocarbon or braided line.

It's worth noting that fishing success can vary depending on the time of year, weather conditions, and other factors. It's always a good idea to do some research or consult with local anglers or fishing guides for the most up-to-date information on the best public lakes in Arkansas for catching trophies using swimbaits.
