What's a good replacement tail for the Johnny rat?

Based on the video context, it seems like the Johnny Rat is a specific type of bait or lure used in bass fishing. However, without more information about the Johnny Rat, it is difficult to provide a suitable alternative for its tail. Could you please provide more details about the Johnny Rat, such as its shape, size, and intended use? This will help me provide a more accurate and informed answer. Thank you!

My Secret Ned Rig Modification by Intuitive Angling With Randy Blaukat like that you've got some of the plastic that's a little bit too flat a little bit too fat so i take a pair of scissors and i sort of trim around the head because i want the plastic to sort of be you know just sort of flush with the the head of the the bait i've got it like that next thing i do is i come through the bottom of the tail and i slice it right up the middle to the back of the hook just not to the back but just almost to the back of the hook so i've got a couple legs in it like that so here's my finished product next to the uh traditional one again here's the traditional ned rig like whether you be use these elastic or the zoom beat down and here's my modified version right here of it and get a little bit closer on there you can see just super diminutive um same deal and i can i can promise you guys this little set up right here with the fork tail in it like that you know when you're working that bait you're popping it off the bottom that tail will separate just a little bit but here's the same deal with fish you know fish see this all the time they see this profile the size of ned rig all the time but they don't see this very often especially with the tail fork

The MOST Versatile TEXAS RIG WORM On The Market by BassFishingHQ if you look at this particular worm it's shaped a lot like a senko right it basically is a senko but it has this unique tail on the back of it and guys that tail for this fourth and fifth way i'm simply going to pull that tail off and guess what now you got a cigar shaped senko style bait so the first way that i really like to fish it when it's like this is simply on a texas rig with a quarter ounce weight i'm gonna pitch and flip this in holes and cover i'm gonna pitch and flip this around trees around boat docks literally around anything guys and all i had to do was pinch that tail off at a weight i'm pitching it i'm flipping it i can even cast it i'm just fishing this like your standard texas rig again but in this case i'm simply just taking the tail off last but definitely not least is a wacky rig i'm actually going to switch up my gear when it comes to fishing this wacky style in this case i'm going to use a smaller hook i'm going to rig it right through the center of the bait and i'm going to fish it on spinning rod and reel tackle guys and that way i'm literally just gonna fish it like your standard wacky rig i'm gonna cast it out let it do its thing out there

Big Worms for Summer Bass Fishing! (Texas Rig, Carolina Rig, Shaky Head) by TacticalBassin off of a break but you're gonna have a lot more response fishing it this way but again when you're dragging you want to have a worm with some subtle action and what that ribbon tail is going to do down there in the current or just slowly dragging it's just gonna just kind of rock right you could even swim it get that thing swimming I don't know where this wind's coming from does feel nice uh but that ribbon tail if you're just dragging a straight tail worm nothing's happening it's just sitting there uh the benefit to that deception or that T-Mac is it's poop it's elevated so it has some motion in the current but for the most part most straight tail worms just lay on the bottom and there's no there's no action so that's why the category the two categories straight tail and ribbon tail if I'm doing a dragging technique I'm throwing some kind of ribbon tail worm okay again that's that seven seven heavy X Pride that is an awesome Carolina rig Rod it's an awesome Big Texas Rig Rod braid to leader again more power more sensitivity less stretch can really especially when you make a long cast or you're drifting along a ledge or a break you have a lot of line out there reeling down and jacking them don't have a lot of stretch allows you to get really good hook penetration in the roof of that fish's mouth

An AMERICAN Application of a New JAPANESE Finesse Rig (I made it BETTER) by Milliken Fishing in that quarter to 3 8 inch and then the nose of this bait you're going to put a nail weight this is the type of nail weight that's not completely covered up by plastic you can see the head's still sticking out either of them work fine this is what I had and pretty much threw in because you do go through a decent amount of terminal tackle really quick once we're going up I freaking love this new plastic shape from Sixth Sense fishing it's called the juggle minnow it's a four inch fluke type style bait with a forked Tail as you can see holding in my hand Ultra Ultra Soft and it comes in some of the best soft plastic colors I've ever seen this is green pumpkin Shad we got Coral Shad so many different Hues no matter what bait fish you're trying to match right there you get a little bit more stained water even though this is a natural bait look at that bait right there it's a brand new bait and it's absolutely killer some of the the Texas dudes that work in the office have kind of build it as like a chatter bait or a spinnerbait trailer guys have been smoking them on that but I've been fishing this bait right here as a finesse bait I threw it as a drop shot for Smallmouth I've been fishing it a ton on a similar rig called a biwa rig

The Texas Rigged Worm I WISH Someone Would Have Told me About! by mikeybalzz fishing are saying man that's a long ribbon tail I'd rather throw a seven inch or a six inch or something like that let me tell you I'm actually originally from Wisconsin they eat a 10 inch ribbon tail one of the tricks with late summer fishing is fish want a little more size now whether that size comes from length or sort of a fatter girthier bait that's what you have to figure out but a 10 inch ribbon Hill is awesome because what's cool is you get a swimming action even though you're sort of dragging along the bottom that tail that ribbon tail has an undulating sort of I don't know it's just this very unique action it's one of the oldest baits in the book aside from the old school like cream straight tail worms and things like that but it just day in and day out catches fish this time of year and it's a standard now more fun stuff I like the more fun stuff because I like playing around with things one thing that I did last year and it is again a Florida transplant is uh I got a little bit uh stick baby with it my My Philosophy is as we get into this late summer these fish get cranky dude they they get neutral they get non-reactive they they it's almost like sort of an inverted winter like less is more they they don't want a bunch of water displacement they

Chatterbait Tricks to Save $$$ and Catch More Fish by TacticalBassin better they all start working together in a much cleaner package and it's been much more effective for me I just catching fish it just it just works better now let's go to the money-saving part of it we all fish kite X and other other paddle tail baits up I throw a lot of acai tech so something I started doing is saving all my junky old kite X the ones that have already destroyed all the other ways that I fish them I throw them all down on the bottom of the boat gather them up at the end of the day quick trick that's gonna save you I cut the nose off the screwed up part and then I actually take the tail section of that bait and I cut it off I still leave the base of the tail but the whole paddle is gone and I put that on now on its own it would have no action of any kind but on the back of a bladed jig it has amazing action that perfectly mirrors the blade and quite frankly I think it works better than a full swim bait I've been able to take baits that I would be throwing in the trashcan and turn them back into fish producers that just flat-out work whatever speed your blade is going this little flat tail is going to match it they work perfectly together perfect mirror and they just get eaten a quick
