What color top water walking bait? At Walmart looking at options, see rapala

Hey there! Great to hear you're looking to pick up some topwater walking baits. Based on the video context and my experience as a bass fishing guide, here are some tips to help you choose the right color:

  1. Water Clarity:

    • Clear Water: Go for natural, subtle colors like shad, ghost, or clear. These colors mimic the natural forage and won't spook the fish.
    • Stained or Murky Water: Opt for brighter colors like chartreuse or white. These colors stand out better in low visibility conditions and can attract bass more effectively.
  2. Light Conditions:

    • Bright, Sunny Days: Natural colors like shad or silver can work well as they reflect light and look more like real baitfish.
    • Overcast or Low Light: Darker colors like black or dark blue can create a strong silhouette against the lighter sky, making it easier for bass to spot your lure.
  3. Rapala Specifics:

    • The Rapala Skitter V is a great choice. It has a V-shaped bottom that helps with the walking action and a single ball weight for better casting and sound.
    • For colors, you might find options like "Pro Blue," "Bone," or "Chrome." Based on the conditions mentioned above, choose accordingly.

Remember, sometimes it’s about experimenting and seeing what works best in your local waters. If you have any specific conditions or preferences, feel free to share, and I can provide more tailored advice.

Happy fishing and tight lines!

Jerkbait Fishing Unleashed | Baits You Need to Fish by Wired2Fish and I kind of gravitate toward the natural looking baits a lot of our Lakes up here you know some of them have smelt some of them have shiners so it's just a good pretty minnow profile and as you can see when it comes to Colors uh there is a lot okay that's something that I'm probably going to talk least of because everybody has their favorites right you know you might like Pro blue I might like white depending on what water color you're in you might want something bright color if you're fishing real dirty or if you're fishing a real clear body of water you might want something that's very natural I know what works for me you know what works for you every company pretty much has something that will cover the bases there so the next thing I want to talk about is the depth Rapala covered from top to bottom right off the bat with their original floater you can throw this thing up Shallow cast it out twitch it doesn't get down more than a couple inches if you want let it float to the surface I've caught so many Bass on a bait that just is twitched under the surface and floats back up and then they've got the countdown so you can cast it out and it'll virtually fall right to the bottom of the lake and then you have everything in between

Summertime Walking Topwaters…5 Secrets You Probably Don’t Know by Intuitive Angling With Randy Blaukat water the more off color the water is the slower that you want to work the bait because this bait any type of a walking bait it's a combination between a sound and a sight bite it will attract bass simply because of the noise that it makes as far as i mean you can get some with rattles in it but just the sloshing and the hooks beating against the bait and how much water it moves will attract fish that they don't have to see it but if you're fishing in super clear water you know i love fishing a spook and water visibility it's over 15 feet you know it's a sight bait and so a lot of that it has to do like anything else with jerkbaits it's a combination of water clarity and water temperature and the water depth that you're fishing a lot of times you have to experiment colors are another big key on this thing i think a lot of people same with jerk baits they get locked into a handful of favorite colors that they have and they tend to over simplify colors one of the things i found out about a walk-in top water is they're very color sensitive for the most part and it has a lot to do with the light intensity and the water clarity both i've never seen a bait like a walk-in top water that is so color sensitive
