What is a good fishing rod for kids?

When it comes to fishing rods for children, it's important to choose ones that are easy to use and suitable for their size and skill level. In the videos, they mention a few options that are recommended for kids.

One option is a spinning rod and reel combo. This type of combo is great for beginners because it's easy to cast and has a light action. The rod is usually medium-light or light action, which means it has a lot of flexibility and bends easily. This helps kids feel even the smallest fish and makes fishing more enjoyable for them. The reel is a spinning reel, which is also easy to use. It's important to note that the video suggests avoiding cartoon character poles as they are not sensitive and tend to have cheap reels that stop working quickly.

Another option mentioned in the videos is a spin cast reel, also known as a push-button reel. This reel is another good choice for kids because it's simple to operate. You just need to push a button to cast the line out. The rod for a spin cast reel should also have a light action, similar to the spinning rod. The videos recommend getting at least a four or five-foot long rod for kids.

It's worth mentioning that the videos emphasize the importance of avoiding short plastic rods with limited flexibility. These rods are not ideal for casting far or accurately. Instead, they recommend getting a longer rod with more flex, even if it's a cartoon character pole.

Overall, the key is to choose a fishing rod and reel combo that is easy to use, has a light action, and is suitable for the child's size and skill level. It's also important to consider the durability and quality of the rod and reel to ensure they last longer and provide a better fishing experience.

Teach a kid how to cast a spinning rod and reel (learn to cast a fishing rod) by Fishing with Nat when you take a kid fishing for the first time you're going to find poles like this in the store these spiderman poles or princess poles they're cute but i would recommend not buying one of these they're they're not sensitive at all so it's very hard to feel a fish they usually come with very cheap line and the reels tend to stop working pretty quickly they last a couple of months and then the drag will stop working or the crank will stop working and it's just more problems than it's worth same kind of thing happens with this one this is an ugly stick junior this is about three and a half feet long so it's about a foot longer than a typical cartoon character pole more sensitive it's a nicer rod it's it works better for catching fish but again the reels are really cheap and they stop working after not too long so um they end up just sitting on a shelf kind of a waste of money after just the first season so i would recommend getting a kid onto a spinning reel as fast as possible this is a dock demon it's about a 15 or 16 combo here so the rod end reel is pretty cheap it's about two and a half feet long and fairly stiff kind of like the cartoon character pulls but spinning reels are definitely the way to
