What is the best knot for the Whopper Plopper?

When it comes to the knot for the Whopper Plopper, there are a few options that you can consider. In the video context provided, the anglers don't specifically mention the knot they use for the Whopper Plopper, but they do mention using braid and fluorocarbon lines.

For braid, a popular knot choice is the Palomar knot. It's a simple and strong knot that works well with braided lines. To tie the Palomar knot, you would double the line and pass the loop through the eye of the hook. Then, tie an overhand knot with the loop and pass the hook through the loop. Finally, tighten the knot by pulling both ends of the line.

If you're using fluorocarbon line, another option is the Improved Clinch knot. This knot is reliable and easy to tie. To tie the Improved Clinch knot, you would pass the line through the eye of the hook, then make 5-7 wraps around the standing line. After that, pass the tag end of the line through the small loop formed above the eye of the hook. Finally, moisten the knot and tighten it by pulling the tag end and the standing line in opposite directions.

It's important to note that the choice of knot may also depend on personal preference and the specific fishing situation. Some anglers may have their own preferred knots for the Whopper Plopper based on their experience and the type of line they are using. If you're unsure, it's always a good idea to experiment with different knots and see which one works best for you.

New Details Emerge On The Whopper Plopper… by Intuitive Angling With Randy Blaukat do also is on the tail a little bit here is sometimes I'll take and I'll just bend this tail get it a little bit pliable and you can work you can adjust this tail to get different frequencies you can bend it out and move it in different positions but I like to sort of work it a little bit like that I like the thing to to not be super stiff it seems like it creates a different action if you work it and sort of pull it up a little bit so just spend some time going back and forth on it like that gives it sort of unique sound now most of the time I'm throwing this on 40 pound tests seaguar Smackdown braid maybe 50 pound test times I use it on that Mega bass roshi launcher the seven foot 11 inch rod and it's a it's a fairly medium tip guys one of the one of the things that's going to help you land more fish on the Whopper Clopper in addition to the hooks is getting that right setup gets you a long medium action Rod that launcher is really cool it's got a nice parabolic Bend to it and it allows that little bit of sort of the hesitation with that braid because once that once that fish loads up on it and that tip flexes a little bit when you set the hook you stick them on that seaguar braid every

Catch WAY More Whopper Plopper Bass With These Advanced Tips… by Intuitive Angling With Randy Blaukat medium action soft tip Rod like that Mega bass launcher and I had decent success but I didn't like the way it felt in the water it's like I didn't a lot of times when you're casting this Whopper plopper a long way you can get a really bad bird's nest with braided line that you cannot get out you basically have to cut it out with scissors and I just didn't like the the way that the braid felt going through the rod tip with this base so I started rigging it up fishing it on 25 25 pound test cigar invisix fluorocarbon line on my slipping stick Mega bass alkley's flipping stick and guys that is the that is the outfit that I have found the best to throw a Whopper on as far as terms of castibility and getting action on the bait and Landing the fish with a flipping stick I can make a long cast with it I can take up a lot of line when that fish hits it I can put a lot of power into it and the fluorocarbon gives me a little bit of stretch to offset the stiffer tip of the flipping stick but with the big hooks that you have on the Whopper plopper it makes a big difference so that's my setup the next I want to go into colors before we get into everything else now basically I use three different colors and I'm going to

Catch WAY More Whopper Plopper Bass With These Advanced Tips… by Intuitive Angling With Randy Blaukat color seems to be the big deal so another thing you can do guys is upgrade your hooks these are the stock hooks that comes with a Whopper plopper here I upgrade probably twice the size these are number one Gamakatsu round ends here it's quite a bit larger hook and going with a larger hook guys this is one of the few lures that I go with a bigger hook if you watch my YouTube channel a lot you talk you hear me talk a lot about using smaller hooks which I do for almost every application but for a Whopper plopper I like a big hook it doesn't affect the action at all on the thing and you get a lot of fish that's slapping a Whopper plopper and having a big Barb and a you know the larger hook will really hook a lot more of them so next thing guys is how you want to work it now I think one of the biggest mistakes that most people make that fish a Whopper plopper that don't know much about Waffle popper fishing is efficient too slow um Whopper floppers in my opinion are designed to be fished pretty fast I don't mean like burning them in but you don't you don't want to throw the Whopper popper out there and just like you know just have a little bit faster like that almost like a fast Buzz bait

What's The Deal With The NEW Whopper Plopper?! by TacticalBassin hey guys how awesome is that new 110 whopper flopper it's an in-between size this is the 130 debate that we've been throwing for years there's also the 90 the little whopper flopper but they built an in-between which is a in my opinion a really good move they've made some changes to it too if you look at the body shape the new bait has a much deeper rounder body its mimicked more after the 90 sighs it helps that head right a little bit higher with heavier hardware they've gone to I would say a 3x hook a strong hook strong split ring no need to change that hardware out everything you've seen so far that we've been doing with it is with totally stock hardware these fish are doing just fine no issues at all they also change the joint which has been very impressive it's now if you fish the originals you know that sometimes grass we get caught in there now it's got a cut shape to it and it seems to deflect a lot more grass if it does get in there I just grab the back of that bait squish it together and squeeze it a few times it drives that grass right out so huge improvement there floats really well for that 3x hook on the front end it's just a great size and as you can see the fish love it it's that perfect in between
