Solitude Fly Company

Field Notes

Use as a surface fly when trout are looking up to feed on terrestrials or larger dry insects. It is a good choice for calm to lightly riffled water where a visible, buoyant pattern can be drifted naturally or skated with short twitches.

Pros

  • Highly visible on the water
  • Buoyant dry-fly presentation
  • Good terrestrial imitation

Cons

  • Less effective in heavy chop or fast water
  • May be too large for selective fish
