Description
Fish Yellowstone like you know it — because now you do. The Yellowstone National Park Summer Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter across YNP's diverse waters from July through August. This is Yellowstone's peak season — the Lamar, Slough Creek, Soda Butte, and Yellowstone River are all firing, with PMDs, Drakes, Caddis, and hoppers creating some of the best dry fly fishing in the country. This box is built around the park's full summer hatch calendar — PMDs, Gray and Green Drakes, Caddis, hoppers, beetles, ants, and Tricos across all major drainages. Every fly was chosen with covering every river you might fish in summer in mind — from the Firehole's technical PMD fishing in June to the Lamar's hopper season through August. What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering PMD Comparaduns, Gray and Green Drake patterns, Elk Hair Caddis, hopper patterns, beetle patterns, ant patterns, and Trico dries. No filler. No patterns that don't belong in the park in summer. Pro tip from the water: Fish the morning hatch on the Lamar, grab lunch near Old Faithful, fish the Firehole or Gibbon through the afternoon — this box follows you everywhere in the park without a second thought about whether you have the right fly. Whether you're making your first trip to Yellowstone or you've been going for years, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop. Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines. NOTE: Customers using flies from our YNP box in the park, legally you must pinch the barbs on these flies before using. Pinching barbs is easiest with your fishing forceps or a pair of needle-nose pliers.
