Description
Fish Yellowstone like you know it — because now you do. The Yellowstone National Park Spring Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter across YNP's diverse waters from late May through June. Spring in the park means the Firehole and Gibbon until runoff clears the other rivers — this box bridges that gap, covering everything from the Firehole's early PMD hatches to the pre-runoff stonefly windows on the Lamar and Yellowstone. This box is built around the park's full spring hatch calendar — BWOs, Skwala stoneflies, midges, March Browns, and early Caddis across all major park drainages. Every fly was chosen with covering every river you might fish in spring in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year regardless of which water you land on. What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering stonefly nymphs, Skwala dries, BWO patterns, Midge Clusters, Hare's Ear nymphs, and Woolly Bugger streamers. No filler. No patterns that don't belong in the park in spring. Pro tip from the water: If you only have one box for a spring YNP trip, this is it. The Firehole's spring-creek hatches and the pre-runoff nymph fishing on the Lamar and Yellowstone require different approaches — this box covers both. Whether you're making your first trip to Yellowstone or you've been going for years, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop. Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines. NOTE: Customers using flies from our YNP box in the park, legally you must pinch the barbs on these flies before using. Pinching barbs is easiest with your fishing forceps or a pair of needle-nose pliers.
