Hand carved wood construction Body length 8" Weight 4.3 oz. Snake like swimming action from flush cut joint #8 Colorado rear blade makes contact with rear hook .092" stainless screw eyes .040" front lip Mustad 3551 7/0 front hook and 5/0 rear Wolverine Triple Split Rings Light epoxy coat finish in fish catching colors Description The "Top H2O" excels as a low light, night fishing, and cold front surface bait. For retrieve speed, reel bait fast enough to start the lure “blowing out” or tipping over... then just slow it down a notch for the best swimming action. When flat calm or tough fishing, you may want to slow it down even more for surprising results. If following fish appears early in retrieve and strike doesn’t occur before getting to theboat, stop the bait and walk-the-dog with it. If that doesn’t work, try sinking the bait underwater on the figure 8 for a boat-side strike. This bait can be fished effectively in up two a two foot chop. Field Notes

This is a surface bait designed for low-light, night fishing, and cold-front conditions. It works best with a fast retrieve to make it “blow out” and then slow just enough to keep the swimming action, with a walk-the-dog pause or figure-8 at boatside if fish follow. It can also be effective in light chop up to about two feet.

Pros

  • Hand-carved wood construction
  • Large 8-inch profile for drawing strikes
  • Effective in low light, night, and cold-front conditions
  • Can be worked fast or slowed down for different responses

Cons

  • Large size and 4.3 oz weight require heavier tackle
  • Best results may take practice to dial in retrieve speed
