For retrieve speed, reel bait fast enough to start the lure “blowing out” or tipping over... then just slow it down a notch for the best swimming action. When flat calm or tough fishing, you may want to slow it down even more for surprising results. If following fish appears early in retrieve and strike doesn’t occur before getting to theboat, stop the bait and walk-the-dog with it.
