Field Notes

Use this as a big musky/pike jerkbait when you want a lure that can pause, hover, and rotate in place. It can be cast and worked slowly in the 1-5 ft zone, or trolled faster to reach deeper water and cover more area. The floating cedar body and lip make it useful around cover and weeds when you need a durable hard bait with hang time.

Pros

  • Floating medium-buoyancy design with strong hang time
  • Works for both casting and trolling
  • Durable cedar body with aluminum lip
  • Runs shallow on cast and deeper when trolled

Cons

  • Large, heavy bait requires stout tackle
  • Best suited to musky/pike rather than general use
  • Treble hooks and size can make handling cumbersome
