Semperfli Wire - 0.2mm

Non tarnishing fly tying wire, perfect for chironomids or buzzers and nymphs, and as ribs on salmon flies and streamers. Measuring 0.2mm or 0.008 inch diameter the non tarnishing means it can even be used in saltwater. The spool has a removeable cap to re-trap the wire once you have removed a section to tie your flies. Tie on Semperfli Wire 0.2mm and tie off with thread. Rather than cutting simply wiggle and it will break - saving damage to your scissors 20m per spool. Why Pick 0.2 mm (vs 0.1mm / 0.3mm)? Works for most trout size flies: visible rib/segmentation without getting bulky. Adds a touch of weight for sink and keel , but still fine enough for slim bodies. Ideal for #12–16 nymphs/wets and many stillwater lures. Typical Uses & Patterns Ribs : Pheasant Tail, Hare’s Ear, Copper John (lighter versions), Diawl Bach, Cruncher, Buzzers (#12–16). Tags & hotspots: small butt tags on spiders/soft hackles without dominating the fly. Counter-ribbing: over quill, biot or peacock to armour delicate bodies. Mini wire bodies: slim nymphs or micro buggers where you want a subtle metallic sheen.
