Field Notes

This is a loud surface bait designed to call fish up with a slow to medium retrieve. The flap blade and clanking hardware create a random blooping, splashing, and rattling commotion that works well when fish are feeding shallow or need extra attention. Best used around open water or over cover where a big topwater profile can draw reaction strikes.

Pros

  • Very loud, high-visibility topwater presentation
  • Random action and sound can trigger reaction bites
  • Hand-carved wood body with heavy-duty hardware

Cons

  • Large profile may be too much for pressured fish
  • Topwater-only presentation limits versatility
  • Requires a steady retrieve and room to work properly
