Description

These are the same 0.062” x 15” Stainless Steel wires we use for rigging all of our lures. The company that cuts and bends these for us refers to it as “quarter-hard” stainless. The wire is slightly stiffer than the average “annealed” wire, but not as stiff as hardened wire. These wires will come with the front/nose loop already bent with a 1” long tag. The nose loop and 1" tag will fit perfectly in the Nose Grommets we use and sell here on the website. Yes, we know 15" is probably longer than most builders need, but that's the length we buy to work with all of our plugs instead of having to stock multiple sizes. And yes, we've asked our manufacturer about getting a 10" or 11" length made and the cost was the same. So use the scrap to make tail flags or something, 15" is the only size we've got for now. Assuming we didn’t make a mistake on the math, all of our components are priced to be slightly cheaper per unit when you buy larger quantity packs. If you’re looking for a larger quantity than what you see listed, please don’t be shy about emailing and inquiring. We'll admit selling components is not our #1 priority - we're a lure builder that also sells components. We'll do our best to keep prices competitive, but where we really try to beat the other guys is shipping orders as quickly as possible. All of the lures and lures building components that we list on our website are in-stock and ready to ship. We do our best to manage our inventory to be as accurate as possible, which allows us to ship orders promptly. Most orders are packed and shipped within 24-36 hours.

Field Notes

This is a lure-building component used to rig plugs and other hard baits, not a finished fishing lure. It’s meant for through-wire construction where strength and corrosion resistance matter, especially on custom or salt-capable plugs. Use it when assembling or repairing lures that need a rigid internal wire frame.

Pros

  • Quarter-hard stainless offers a good balance of stiffness and workability
  • Pre-bent nose loop saves build time
  • Corrosion-resistant material

Cons

  • Only one length available
  • Requires lure-building knowledge and additional components
