YATES BAITS Swim Reaper“The Swim Reaper” a versatile hybrid bladed jig with a unique skull design crafted from the same high-quality resin we use for our custom crankbaits. The skull, which combines the density of resin and lead, weighs in at approximately 0.65oz or a little over, including hardware (without Blade). Comes attached with either an silicone E-Z Skirt or a full-length custom silicone skirt (trim it to your desired length), and a sharp #2 treble hook finishes the setup, secured by a split ring that offers more movement. This hybrid bladed jig doesn’t require any soft plastic trailers and is ready to use out of the box. What makes these different?The key difference lies in the material’s density. Lead, brass, and tungsten all sink at different rates in the water, which affects how they present themselves. For example, during our testing, a test skull weighing 9.04g, while a comparable lead weight came in at 4.57g almost half the weight of the skull and despite the skull’s greater mass, it sank only slightly slower (milliseconds) than the lead. This creates a totally unique presentation in the water that can be used in many way including twitching, jerking , as well as vertically jigging along with other techniques.
