Field Notes

Use this small floating beetle-style plug on rivers and streams when trout are feeding near the surface. Cast it upstream or across current and retrieve slowly so it drifts naturally and imitates a terrestrial insect or bug. It is especially useful around seams, pockets, and undercut banks where trout look for surface food.
