Shetland Spindrift Jig

This fly has been developed by Stan (of Gourmet Flies fame). We asked him to come up with his interpretation of the Utah Killer Bug (a deadly Grayling fly). This is the result, tied on a size 14 jig hook with a quality 2.3mm off-set tungsten bead. We have 3 variations, each with a different coloured sparkle collar (Olive, Orange & Pink). The body is tied using specialist wool (from Jamieson's of Shetland - colour 290 Oyster) - the definitive colour for the Utah Killer Bug. It's a variation of the Sawyer's Killer Bug, developed by Frank Sawyer, only heavier. Frank was the riverkeeper on the Wiltshire Avon, where a part of his duty was to control the population of grayling. These flies are only available individually in size 14.
