D&S Custom Jigs

Field Notes

A Road Runner-style jig is a good choice for panfish when you want a small moving bait that can be cast and retrieved or worked with short pauses. It is especially useful around open water edges, docks, and other areas where crappie and bluegill are feeding on small forage.

Pros

  • Small profile suited to panfish
  • Spinner blade adds flash and vibration
  • Versatile for cast-and-retrieve presentations

Cons

  • Single small lure can be easy to lose in heavy cover
  • May be too subtle in very dirty water
