Great Beginner Rod/Reel Combo I bought this combo as an inexpensive intro to fly fishing. And it's been great for that. There are two issues to be aware of after you've been at it for a while - the rod is labeled as a 5/6 weight rod, but when tested by the Common Cents method, actually comes out as 7.4 weight (so you might want a heavier fly line than the one it comes with). I also learned after using it for a while that the reel has no easy to adjust drag setting (at first, I thought it had no drag setting). It's an all-or-none setting, and you have to take the reel apart and change the pawl inside to change the setting. SO - it's still a great intro to the sport, good for beginning and deciding if fly fishing is something you'd like to pursue.

Pretty Good Good rod itself but the plastic gear on the reel eats away quickly would recommend getting the 25$ metal Martin reel and respooling onto that reel it’s basically the same reel but slightly smaller and metal
