The Norm Wood Special has always been one of the best imitations for the Golden Stones on the famous Deschutes River. It's custom dyed calf tail wing and two tone body have proven themselves to be VERY effective.

Use this as a dry fly imitation of golden stoneflies on trout water, especially when stoneflies are active near the surface. It is well suited to drifting along seams, riffles, and banks where trout are looking up for larger insects.
