Description

The Laker Pro ice rod is a 48" Medium-Heavy power, solid carbon spinning rod designed for big predatory fish. Although named after the Lake Trout it was originally designed to target, it has been proven as an ultimate weapon in the arsenal for targeting large pike, muskie, and walleye. The taper has been designed with a moderate-fast action which provides enough backbone for strong hooksets, and enough play to absorb large headshakes and rolls. High end solid carbon materials are used for maximum sensitivity and the detection of soft bites. The Laker Pro utilizes the lightest materials, while maintaining maximum durability. This rod is assembled with a standardized size 16 reel seat, so now you can easily move your favorite reel from open water to ice. 48" Solid Carbon Medium Heavy Blank Moderate-Fast Action Lightweight wire guides and Graphite Alps Spinning Reel Seat Rubberized Non-Slip Grips Lure weight is recommended at 1 oz and under. See our Laker Pro-X for handling larger baits and/or the consistent targeting of 30lb+ fish.

Field Notes

Use this ice spinning rod for targeting large predatory fish through the ice, especially when you need sensitivity for soft bites and backbone for hard hooksets. It’s well-suited to jigging with up to about 1 oz lures and benefits from the moderate-fast action when fish make headshakes and rolls.

Pros

  • Solid carbon blank for high sensitivity
  • Moderate-fast action for strong hooksets with shock absorption
  • Lightweight build while maintaining durability
  • Spinning reel seat allows moving a reel between open water and ice

Cons

  • Recommended lure weight is 1 oz and under (heavier baits may be better suited to the Laker Pro-X)
