Description

It has come to my attention that some guys don't like black nickle hooks. Imagine my shock and surprise on learning that! So I said to myself "self, you must fill the need for a good bullet shaped bucktail with the old standard Mustad forged, tin plated, 2x strong hooks, lots of deer hair dressing, heat cured powder coat and epoxy coated wraps in 7 sizes and 6 colors". After much thought and research the solution is the old standard "Jetty Caster" style bucktail. So here it is for everyones perusal.

Field Notes

Use around jetties, rocks, and current where a compact bucktail can be bounced or cast and retrieved steadily. The bullet-shaped head and deer hair dressing make it a good choice for inshore predators feeding near structure.

Pros

  • Compact bucktail profile for jetty and structure fishing
  • 2x strong forged hook for hard-fighting fish
  • Powder coat and epoxy wraps add durability

Cons

  • Hair dressing can wear over time
  • Best suited to structure-oriented presentations rather than open-water finesse
