Description

If you've read the description of the other Blind Doodle Bug listing you'll know about the evolution of this particular head style. It's something I've never seen before and always wanted to try. This listing is the same heads in lead. They are heavier per physical size than the Tin versions but they still work well in the water. I've also included more color combinations in these and there will probably be more to come in the future. Construction details and materials are just as important as on other heads and all the good practices are used to make these too. Hooks are Mustad #3407, forged for strength and tin plated for salt water use in the sizes shown in the pictures. The line eyes are stainless steel for strength. Paint, where used, is sprayed vinyl with an over coat of heat applied and cured clear powder coat. Hair dressing wraps are covered with either clear epoxy or lacquer. If you're like a lot of us fishermen you're always looking for something different. This might be it! Thanks for looking and Tight Lines!

Field Notes

This is a heavy inshore hair jig/doodle bug style lure meant to be cast and worked around saltwater structure. The weighted head and dressed hook make it useful for presenting a larger profile in current, deeper water, or when you need a slower fall and more presence than a standard jig head. It can also be fished around docks, channels, and other cover where inshore predators feed.

Pros

  • Heavy lead head for better casting and deeper presentation
  • Saltwater-rated hook and stainless line eye
  • Multiple color options for matching conditions

Cons

  • Large profile may be too much for finicky fish
  • Single-hook hair jig can snag in heavy cover
