Description

Introducing the new 7” CL8bait Chop Suey Glide Bait. I’ve been working on this bait for a long time, dialing in every detail to perfect the swim. Each Chop Suey is handmade from start to finish in the CL8bait shop using urethane resin. The Chop Suey has a stable, controlled action when chopped and is hand-tuned to barely float. On the chop, it dives about 2–3 feet and then slowly rises back up. With minor weight adjustments, it can be tuned to suspend. It features slightly flexible, transparent fins and tail, and is equipped with Owner ST-36 size 1 treble hooks. Field Notes

Best for covering water with a steady retrieve and sharp chops to trigger reaction bites. The bait dives on the chop to about 2–3 feet, then slowly rises, making it useful around open-water targets and fish that want a controlled glide presentation. It can also be tuned to suspend for a more neutral pause.

Pros

  • Handmade urethane resin construction
  • Stable, controlled glide action
  • Barely floats and can be tuned to suspend
  • Transparent flexible fins and tail

Cons

  • Requires heavier tackle and stronger line
  • Premium price point
  • Not ideal for very shallow cover
