Description

Bill Lewis Tiny Trap, #22 Fire Tiger Color. About 1 3/4" long and weighing 1/8oz. Box has some minor wear, lure is new in the box but does have some marks from storage. See photos. Fish or collect. Bill Lewis Normally fished in a cast-and-crank shallow water situation, they are also effective when allowed to sink to the bottom and burned over deep structure back to the boat. With this method, just position the boat on the uphill side of a point or underwater hump and throw out as far as you can. Let the bait sink to the bottom and start the retrieve up the slope, banging into rocks and other obstructions along the way. The Rat-L-Trap is best known for ripping through shallow grass beds and surprising bad tempered bass waiting in ambush. These baits will get pounded by hungry fish however you choose to fish them. We carry a variety of fish-catching colors for any situation you are likely to encounter. Today the Rat-L-Trap brand is the number 1 selling brand of hard-baits. W ith over 350 size and color combinations, The Rat-L-Trap is the undisputed king of lipless crankbaits. See all of our Bill Lewis lures for sale here .

Field Notes

Fish it as a cast-and-crank lipless crankbait in shallow water, then vary the retrieve by letting it sink before starting your retrieve. For deeper structure, position on the uphill side of a point or hump, cast out, allow it to drop to bottom, and retrieve up the slope while contacting rocks/cover.

Pros

  • Lipless crankbait design for cast-and-crank shallow fishing
  • Can be fished shallow or allowed to sink to bottom over structure
  • Effective for ripping through grass and for bottom-banging retrieves

Cons

  • Best results depend on retrieve timing (shallow vs. sink-and-retrieve)
  • May snag when banging through rocky/obstruction areas
