Description

Bill Lewis Mini Trap, L6 Letric Red Color. About 2 1/4" long and weighing 1/4oz. Box has some minor wear, lure is new in the box but does have some marks from storage. See photos. Fish or collect. Normally fished in a cast-and-crank shallow water situation, they are also effective when allowed to sink to the bottom and burned over deep structure back to the boat. With this method, just position the boat on the uphill side of a point or underwater hump and throw out as far as you can. Let the bait sink to the bottom and start the retrieve up the slope, banging into rocks and other obstructions along the way. The Rat-L-Trap is best known for ripping through shallow grass beds and surprising bad tempered bass waiting in ambush. These baits will get pounded by hungry fish however you choose to fish them. We carry a variety of fish-catching colors for any situation you are likely to encounter. Today the Rat-L-Trap brand is the number 1 selling brand of hard-baits. W ith over 350 size and color combinations, The Rat-L-Trap is the undisputed king of lipless crankbaits. See all of our Bill Lewis lures for sale here .

Field Notes

Fish it in a cast-and-crank shallow-water retrieve over grass or ambush cover. You can also let it sink to the bottom and then burn it back up over points or underwater humps, banging it through rocks/obstructions to trigger strikes.

Pros

  • Lipless crankbait profile ideal for cast-and-crank shallow water
  • Effective both retrieved and bottom-sunk then burned back
  • Designed to deflect/bang into cover and rocks to provoke reaction strikes

Cons

  • Can snag when worked through heavy rock/obstructions
