Razor Baits

Field Notes

Use around heavy vegetation, lily pads, and matted cover where a hollow-body toad or frog-style bait can be walked or skipped across the surface. Best for bass that are feeding shallow and willing to strike on top.

Pros

  • Excellent for fishing thick cover without snagging easily
  • Creates strong surface commotion that draws reaction strikes

Cons

  • Can be less effective in open water
  • Requires accurate hooksets and stout tackle
