A weighted nymph pattern designed to get down quickly in the water column. Best fished under an indicator or as part of a tight-line/euro-nymphing rig in runs, seams, and deeper pockets where trout feed subsurface.

Pros

  • Heavy tungsten-style profile helps it sink fast
  • Versatile mayfly/caddis imitation for trout
  • Good choice for nymphing in deeper water

Cons

  • Not a good choice when fish are feeding on the surface
  • Small profile can be hard to see without an indicator
