Yellow Sally Stonefly A great Stonefly imitation, great fished as near to the bottom as possible. Stonefly nymphs are generally quite large so sizes 12 to 16 are in order. Stonefly nymphs hatch in the river/stillwater bed, then swim to the waters edge and crawl up bankside vegetation before they hatch into an adult. These Stonefly nymphs are best fished during the morning once the Stonefly hatch has started. Check the bankside vegetation during a hatch to get an idea for the colour to use.
