Jimmy D's River Bugs

Weighted Northern Pike Streamers

$9.9
I use a big heavy-nasty black nickel Premium 5/0 hook. Under the dressing I have wound multiple layers of lead wire for added weight. Once the feathers have soaked up water, the streamer is heavy enough to use a medium to heavy spinning rod. My son Steve wanted something to fish big Northerns in shallow water bays in early Spring. With his inspiration, I made some-up for him to try. It sinks very slow, flat, and horizontally, unlike the fall of a jig. It remains in line of sight for a long time. The slightest “twitch” and hold on. When he lost the last streamer on a huge fish he said “I would have given $25.00 for another one!” – Jimmy D.
