Hareline Dubbin

Field Notes

Marabou is a fly-tying material used to add lifelike movement and bulk to streamers, jigs, and other fly patterns. It works well when you want a soft, pulsing profile in the water, especially for baitfish or leech imitations.

Pros

  • Soft fibers create excellent movement in the water
  • Useful for many fly patterns and color combinations
  • Good for baitfish, leech, and streamer builds

Cons

  • Not a finished fishing lure
  • Can mat down when wet or dirty if not cared for
