Piscari-Fly

Field Notes

A traditional lake wet fly pattern for fishing just below the surface or through the upper water column. It works well on a slow retrieve or on a swing, especially when trout are feeding on emerging insects or small baitfish.

Pros

  • Classic wet-fly profile that suggests natural movement
  • UV/silver materials can add flash in low light or stained water
  • Versatile for lake and stillwater presentations

Cons

  • Not ideal when fish are keyed strictly on tiny dry flies
  • Can be less effective in very clear, ultra-pressured water if overworked
