The Wedding Zinger Lures

Field Notes

Use twitching jigs by casting to likely cover (rocky bottoms, edges, or current seams) and then working the jig with short, sharp twitches followed by brief pauses. This lets the jig fall naturally while the skirt/feathers pulse to trigger strikes.

Pros

  • Twitch-and-pause action can draw reaction strikes
  • Feather/skirt profile adds bulk and vibration
  • Works well around rocky/structure bottoms

Cons

  • Can foul more easily in heavy cover if not kept off the bottom
  • Requires active retrieve to maximize the twitching action
