Field Notes

This is a surface lure built to make a slow rotating presentation with deep plops and a metallic click, so it’s best worked on top with a steady retrieve or slow sweep. It’s aimed at drawing big fish from a distance, especially when you want noise, commotion, and a larger profile on the surface.

Pros

  • Distinctive slow rotation and deep plopping sound
  • Metallic clicking pin adds extra attraction
  • Cedar body with thru-wire construction for durability

Cons

  • Large 3 oz profile requires heavier tackle
  • Surface presentation can be less effective in calm, pressured conditions
