Tomic Lures

Field Notes

This is a broken-back style plug that works well when fish want a more erratic, wobbling presentation. Cast it around shoreline structure, bait activity, or current seams and retrieve steadily with occasional pauses or twitches to make the jointed body kick. The surface-oriented profile makes it a good choice when predators are feeding near the top or just under it.

Pros

  • Jointed body creates an erratic, lively action
  • Good for casting around structure and bait schools
  • Versatile in a variety of inshore conditions

Cons

  • Can be less effective when fish want a very subtle presentation
  • Treble hooks and body joints can snag more easily in heavy cover
