This is a surface popper-style lure for working over shallow flats, mangroves, docks, and other inshore cover. Use short, sharp rod pops to make it chug and spit, then pause to let fish track it in calm or lightly rippled water.

Pros

  • Strong surface commotion to draw reaction strikes
  • Good for targeting fish around shallow cover
  • Simple cast-and-pop retrieve

Cons

  • Less effective in heavy wind or rough water
  • Surface presentation can spook pressured fish if worked too aggressively
