Description

Designed by Bryan Thrift himself, The Bryan Thrift Tungsten Micro Skipping Jig is an eco-friendly, compact skipping jig that flat out gets bit! Designed with a fine-strand finesse skirt that is hand tied and utilizes a quality Mustad Hook. Because it is made with tungsten the hook up ratio is much better than traditional lead head jigs. Not only is this jig for skipping, but flipping/pitching and dragging, this jig does it all!

Field Notes

Skip the jig under docks, overhanging grass, and along shoreline cover to trigger reaction bites. It can also be flipped or pitched to targets and dragged/slow-rolled to keep the skirt moving while the tungsten head stays in the strike zone.

Pros

  • Tungsten head improves hook-up ratio versus traditional lead
  • Compact micro size for tight skipping angles
  • Fine-strand finesse skirt is hand tied for natural movement
  • Versatile: skipping, flipping/pitching, and dragging

Cons

  • Micro jig size may require precise casting/placement
  • Tungsten can be more expensive than lead equivalents
