Description

Here it is, you can pick your lure, you can pick your nose and now you can pick your nose with your lure (please don't try this at home, this was for entertainment only). You might think this little bait is just another one of those novelty lures but you would be wrong. When I first started making it I thought it might only be a novelty also but it has really nice action! It is a wake bait and you can see a short clip of it at Bogoly's Keeping it Reel on YouTube. Chris Bogoly does me a favor often and provides a test of my lures in his videos but he is also one of the more entertaining down to earth fishing channels on YouTube Check out the bait on his channel and if you enjoy the content please subscribe, just my way of saying thank you to him. Here is a link to the video with the bait. I got it to him late in the season so he just threw it a few times and put it away, it was just too late in the season for topwater smallies. The link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yxzFLL6gEE Like I said he makes really good down to earth content but if you can't watch the whole video due to cabin fever jump ahead to about the 3 minute mark. Note: This is a hand poured resin bait so it can take some serious abuse (don't read too much into that). This was a bit of a labor of love that surprised me. I had help from someone getting it created in a CAD program then I started making molds and a bit of trial and error later here it is. On a more serious note, if you would like a different skin tone that is understandable so just reach out to me and lets see what I can do. If I have the time to just sit down and do it I will create some different skin tones and post them on here.

Field Notes

This is a wake bait designed to be retrieved just under or along the surface to create a subtle wake. It is best for calm to lightly rippled water when bass are willing to track a bait from a distance, especially around dawn, dusk, or over shallow cover. The listing also notes it can be used for topwater smallmouth fishing.

Pros

  • Wake-bait action with a nice surface wake
  • Hand-poured resin construction for durability
  • Good for topwater smallmouth and bass

Cons

  • Novelty shape may not appeal to all anglers
  • Likely best in specific topwater conditions rather than all-around use
