Field Notes

Use this hook for rigging natural worms and similar bait when targeting saltwater or freshwater species. The long shank and bait-holding barbs help keep ragworms or sandworms in place for casting or bottom presentations.

Pros

  • Sharp knife-edge point for easier penetration
  • Long shank with bait-holding barbs
  • Versatile for freshwater and saltwater use

Cons

  • Not a lure, so it adds no action or attraction on its own
  • Best suited to natural bait presentations rather than artificial baits
