Split-Back BWO

This split-back blue-winged olive nymph to floats higher in the water column and represents an emerging bwo mayfly. The yellow foam imitates the 'splitting' of the wing case during emergence and helps keep the nymph a little more buoyant. BWO hatches are popular for their density. These are ideal when trout are ignoring dry flies on top and taking nymphs just below the surface.
