Field Notes

This is a single-blade bucktail spinner for covering water and triggering reaction strikes from pike and musky. It is best cast and retrieved at a steady pace, with occasional speed changes or pauses to make the blade pulse and the skirt flare. Works well along weed edges, over open water, and around structure where fish can track vibration and flash.

Pros

  • Strong flash and vibration from the single blade

  • Good search bait for locating active fish

Cons

  • Can be less effective on very cold or inactive fish
