Description

The SHIKARI is a long-casting, shallow diving, slow floating jerkbait with an internal tungsten weight transfer system. The internal weight slides backward into the tail when casting to maximize distance, and then rolls forward when being retrieved to balance the lure and keep it perfectly level. The Shikari can be twitched hard on the retrieve to produce an erratic action where the lure will turn 180° triggering violent strikes from inshore gamefish. It can also be trolled with a significant body roll, and when retrieved will produce a nose to tail whole body wiggle, making it highly appealing to all predators. The Shikari 3-3/4" is ideal for all inshore saltwater species such as Snook, Redfish, Striped Bass, Seatrout and many others. Every Nomad Design lure has been crafted by decades of experience on the water to be tougher, last longer and to catch more fish. Field Notes

Use this shallow-diving jerkbait when fish are feeding on baitfish in inshore saltwater. It works well with hard twitches to create an erratic 180-degree turn, or with a steady retrieve to show a body roll and wiggle. The slow floating action makes it useful around flats, edges, and other shallow cover where you want the lure to suspend upward between pauses.

Pros

  • Long-casting internal tungsten weight transfer system
  • Erratic darting action on hard twitches
  • Slow floating profile is good for shallow inshore water

Cons

  • May be less effective in very deep water
  • Treble-hook jerkbaits can snag in heavy cover
