Description

Hands are important for fly fishing. Cold hands don’t work and lead to shortened days on the water. Heavy, insulated gloves keep your hands warm and dry but make fishing almost impossible. If you c an’t feel your line, you c an’t cast, mend, strip, or fight fish , which means you c an’t fish effectively . RS Gloves solve both problems. They are fully waterproof with taped seams and reinforced cuffs that are specifically designed to integrate with the RS Jacket—so water stays in the river and off your skin. The 4-way stretch, breathable textile is tough enough for long seasons of use but sensitive enough to let your fingertips fee l the fly line. If you love cold weather fishing but hate wet hands, we built the RS Gloves for you.

"They perform exactly as advertised: completely waterproof and thin enough to give you good feel of a fly line. They are not very warm. I fished with them for 5 days in cold (30s) weather, and I'd recommend either sizing up so you can wear liner gloves under them, or doing as I did and wearing wool fingerless gloves over them. I get it that to make these gloves warm Skwala would have had to add bulk, which means the gloves wouldn't be very good for handling and feeling fly line. I'm giving four stars instead of five only because I think the description of the glove should mention that they aren't very warm and offer suggestions as to how to best use them in cold weather."
