Description

The RIPTIDE “FATSO” 3-3/4” is a wider body version of the renowned Riptide design. It has been made as the ultimate surface “walk the dog” lure. It features an internal rattle and is perfectly balanced for long distance casting. When twitched and walked in a side-to-side action, the lure can flick 180 ° from side-to-side, and can even be made to turn backwards on itself. It can be worked aggressively or can be worked in a very subtle and slow manner with just minor twitches of the rod tip and a subtle splash. However you work it, the RIPTIDE 3-3/4” is a fish catching weapon. Ideal for Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Seatrout and Striped Bass in inshore saltwater. Nomad Design lures are not only super tough and durable, but also feature unique and highly effective shapes and actions with highly detailed colors. Every Nomad Design lure has been crafted by decades of experience on the water to be tougher, last longer and to catch more fish. Field Notes

Best for calm to moderate inshore conditions when fish are feeding near the surface. Work it with a walk-the-dog retrieve using short rod twitches; it can be fished aggressively or with subtle pauses and slow twitches to trigger snook, tarpon, redfish, seatrout, and striped bass.

Pros

  • Wide-body surface walker with strong side-to-side action
  • Internal rattle helps draw attention
  • Balanced for long-distance casting
  • Can be worked fast or very subtly

Cons

  • Surface lure, so it is less effective when fish are holding deep
  • May be harder to use effectively in heavy chop or strong wind
