Description

I have always been inclined towards designing and fishing bonefish-style flies with the eyes in the rear. Not only does this create a far more lifelike silhouette and place the eyes in a realistic location, but it also makes the fly far easier to retrieve over a grabby, uneven bottom structure. Likewise, I believe that most bonefish flies lack the quality that we refer to as "bugginess" in freshwater flies. They are often clean and sterile to both the human and the fish's eye. The Stalking Stuffer combines the best elements of patterns like the Mantis Shrimp and the Squimp into a new realm, where the fly fishes cleanly on the retrieve and ups the game with a natural crustation-style bugginess that bonefish, triggerfish, golden trevally, and permit all respond extremely well to. They are tied on the highest quality 3X strong hooks.
