The HCR 2 is a beefed-up 3/4 oz version of the old variant spun cast commercially with a 5/0 heavy wire straight shank Mustad round bend hook, full size weed guard and integrated plastic spar to keep your plastic straight. It's equipped with double rattles when you need to get noisy for dirty water or exceptionally deep applications. Due to the added heft of the rattles it will fish more like a 1 oz jig when you add a substantial trailer which is what this jig is made for, big jigs, bulky trailers, fished on deep cover equal big bites. Due to the head design and hook geometry, this jig can be used for a variety of techniques, from deep dragging over heavy cover football head style, to punching moderate vegetation, to power flipping presentations on wood or deep docks, and a few industrious guys are using it to swim big plastic swim baits and 10-inch worms around real deep stuff sans most of the weed guard.
