Hareline Dubbin

Field Notes

Used as fly tying components to add weight, flash, and a tapered profile to streamers and other articulated patterns. They are commonly placed on the hook shank or leader side of a fly to help the fly ride and sink more naturally in the water.

Pros

  • Adds flash and attraction to fly patterns
  • Useful for weighting and shaping streamers
  • Versatile fly tying component

Cons

  • Requires fly tying skill and materials
  • Not a finished fishing lure
