Description

More than your average trout spoon, the Presso Rave 2 boasts key fishing catching features. The body of the spoon is molded with a deep cup to grab more water, giving the bait a consistent side to side kick pattern that remains consistent whether the lure is allowed to sink to the bottom or run along the surface. Slow straight retrieve this lure to keep it in the strike zone longer and allow the bait to perform its bite-triggering kick and swim. Rave 2 comes equipped with a Daiwa custom single in-line hook featuring a micro-barb allowing the lure to firmly pierce and hold while trout fight and roll. The micro-barb minimizes impact on the fish for easy catch-and-release but also provides enough security for fish-hungry anglers too. Available in 6 fish attracting colors and weights ranging from 2.2 grams to 3.5 grams, the Rave 2 has got all of your distance and water column covered.

Field Notes

Use a slow straight retrieve to keep the spoon in the strike zone and let the deep-cup body kick side to side. It can be fished near the surface or allowed to sink to the bottom, making it useful for covering different parts of the water column for trout.

Pros

  • Deep cup creates a consistent side-to-side kick
  • Works across multiple water-column levels
  • Lightweight options are good for trout presentations
  • Single in-line micro-barb hook is fish-friendly for catch and release

Cons

  • Very light weights limit casting distance in wind
  • Best suited to a slow retrieve, so it is not a fast-search bait
